Starting from the recent Italian translation of the updated official version of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Companion Volume (CEFRCV), this paper traces the characteristics of the document and the main innovations introduced in the last update, such as the redefinition of levels, the pluricultural and plurilingual dimension and the attention to sign language.
